Tony Blair - the Musical combines satirical comedy with tragic pathos in a musical dramatisation of Tony Blair's ten years in power. The show premiered at the 2007 Edinburgh festival Fringe, receiving international coverage and enthusiastic responses from both press and public in a total sell-out run. Writer James Lark received a commendation in the MTM:UK musical theatre awards for best book, and the show was described by David Sillito on Radio 4 as "the highlight of the Fringe".

Blair's achievements and ideals are put under the spotlight and given a tune, in ballads lifted straight from the lips of Blair himself, from his uplifting "Not a day for soundbites" to his career-ending "Party's over", alongside full-blown chorus numbers such as "Throwing the Jowell in", "Oh! what a lovely war against terrorism" and "The Terrorist Countermeasures song". His ever-changing public image, his controversial foreign policy, and the things he sacrificed in the name of power are recreated through the unforgettable music of James Lark ("very funny…fantastically skewed" - New York Times).

Both a critical and commercial success and a piece of history in the making, Tony Blair - the Musical was one of the must-see shows of the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe.
